The components keratin sulfate and chondroitin sulfate affect the water retention capacity in the corneal stroma of the human eye. Due to the high hydrophilicity present in biomolecules, we find a constant amount of water, functional groups and various polarities. The bio compatible material Vitafilcon A is synergistically effective in building sulfo betaine (SB) and amino acid (AS) blocks. Both attract and store water. Our big goal was to develop a CONTACT lens that minimises the effect of dehydration with at least one of these substances.

One of the special features of the CONTACT lens is this gentle edge profile. It is slightly rounded and takes over two
functions at once:

The tear film under the CONTACT lens is optimally replaced and the eye is better supplied with oxygen. This smooth exchange ensures a high level of comfort.
